The Home Office Guide on Firearms Licensing Law 2022, page 105, paragraph 12.53 states that "Target shooters may be expected to use their firearms fairly regularly, say three or more times a year." Whilst not law, this guidance is followed by all police forces in Great Britain. Therefore, to avoid Firearm Certificate (FAC) revocation or partial revocation, it is imperative that target shooters keep a record of all their shooting activities with firearms conditioned solely for target shooting.
To help shooters with this, we have created a Shooting Log template that contains all of the details Firearms Licensing Departments require when reviewing a target shooter's firearm usage at their FAC renewal or otherwise, along with instructions on how to use it. It is free to download and use whether you are a member of Blue Rifle & Pistol Club or not.
Blue Rifle & Pistol club will request a copy of this log annually from all members who have Blue RPC as their "primary club" on their FAC as many Firearms Licensing Departments will ask us for this information to support an FAC renewal. However, it is the member's responsibility to fill it out and supply us with it.
If you have any questions, member or not, do not hesitate to contact us!
